Welcome to The Crazy Canoe. A SHIELD watering hole, it's the place to raise a glass with new friends and plan those daring adventures. If you play from any Marvel property in any of the Marvel universes, you are welcome here!

Please keep discussions civil. This is to find people who enjoy playing in the same type of sandbox as you, not to argue with each other over whose opinion is 'valid'. We're all here to have a good time so please, let's not ruin it for each other.

So do the thing. Make friends. Everybody Space Jam.

CROSSCANON EDITION:

Do you play someone in a non-Marvel canon who'd you'd love to toss at a Marvel character? Do you play someone Marvel who you'd equally love to launch at a non-Marvel? This is the spot for you!

Be sure to list the non-Marvel canon(s) in the subject line for easy searching.

What you love most about Marvel: Even little me who grew up watching the X-Men Animated Series knew it was important to tell stories about people who are different than you struggling to be accepted.
Spoiler Alert: I've got a canon checklist but don't mind spoilers for the Marvel stuff I haven't seen yet!

( B A S I C S )
Character: Daisy Johnson
Universe: Agents of SHIELD (MCU, fight me)
Canon points: Usually post-s7 (ie 2019 or later)
Character's age: 31+
Permissions/Preferences: Here!
Who the heck are they? Daisy comes from the unloved stepchild of the early days of the MCU. She started off her hero's journey as a hacktivist who was such a thorn in SHIELD's side that a newly not dead Phil Coulson rolled up and offered her a job. Over the seven seasons of the little show that could, she faced the betrayal of people she trusted (teammate revealed to be Hydra, mom turned out to be a supervillain and tried to kill her, best friend medically tortured her to save the world), a whole lot of trauma (the deaths of many loved ones in the line of duty, being mind-controlled and forced to love the thing behind it, being tortured for her superpowers), and more than one near-apocalypse (which she had the heavy task of helping avert). But despite all the trauma and guilt she carries with her, not to mention the hate groups and politicians questioning her right as an Inhuman to exist, she still cares deeply for other people and firmly believes she was given a gift to help stop bad people from doing bad things. Her moral compass is firm, and she holds to her beliefs—unless someone she loves is in danger. (If that bit about Inhumans sounds familiar, it's because the MCU tried substituting them for mutants when Fox was still its own entity and refused to give up the rights to X-Men. Results were of mixed quality.)

If you're not interested in watching this 136-episode series, I recommend this nine-minute fanvid for a nice little overview of Daisy's fucked up and trauma-filled life. I also have this handy timeline of major events.

Where can they be found? Currently in Diadem!
Looking for games? Memes/psls? Museboxes? Mostly looking for psls right now since I can only handle one game at a time.
Searching for specific Marvels? Open to just about anyone MCU, but would especially love some of the Thunderbolts crew! I'd also love some multiversal things with mutants because of aforementioned connections. Really, though, if you want to toss your character at a superpowered spy who is familiar with time travel and the concept of the multiverse, she's your girl.
Open to and/or searching for ships? Always open to ships if there's chemistry.
What specific things are you interested in writing? My favorite things to write include emotional moments, hurt/comfort, bonding over shared experiences/trauma, stolen moments of happiness, and normal daily life for people who aren't used to it and thus struggle with and find it extremely weird. My go-to genres are horror, survival, sci-fi, and the occasional dash of dark fantasy. Apocalyptic stories are a forever favorite.
What things are you not interested in? r!63, young children, and hard villain characters aren't really my jam.
Anything else? Post-time travel snacks are important:
