I heard Hydra Peggy and came RUNNING

hi yes hello! :D shield isn't peggy's pride and joy in this au - hydra is. as has always been the case. and no one knows it. not even howard. while he's busy building shield from the ruins of the ssr, she's simply along for the ride. using his tech, his power, his money as a means to accomplish what she needs to with hydra, right in his own house.

I love all of that. What jumps to the front of my mind is a kind of scenario where WS!Steve has been misused or mishandled on a mission by one of the lower Hydra officers, and Peggy finds out? Perhaps Steve's programming starts to break and he's trying to get her to rescue him?

don't mind me being too lazy to sign into the au journal lol. but oh no, poor steve. ;-; thinking she might be able help him, esp when at first she goes along with it - bec he has yet to learn she's a horrible monster who happens to be the reason his programming is there in the first place.

Absolute devastation in his eyes when he figures it out- too late, he's figured it out too late, and now he's back trapped and it's his last hope squashed out of him- god it's delightful.

if it wasn't such a pain in her ass to have the scientists correct, she might let the program glitch on occasion. wait for pieces of steve's memories to slip back in place just to enjoy and savor the hope that sparks in his eyes when he sees her. then snuff the flame out.

god she's so sadistic, I love her! It would be different every time, depending on what memories surface, and the game would never get old for her. And maybe one time he remembers the betrayl, but it's not enough to stop him from still finding her, and he comes to her anyways. "Nothing makes sense. I remember you putting me in the chair, but you wouldn't Peggy, you wouldn't do that! Right?"

I've always really wanted to see Maria and Peggy interact - something in the What If timeline, Peggy brought forward in time through handwaving, or Maria sent backwards. I'm also very 👀 @ hydra!Peggy. Maria in HYDRA isn't something that I've considered, but it does sound like fun.

We also had a super super brief texting thing with your HYDRA AU and my Penny Parker, which I'd be interested in exploring as well.
